Attending the opening were representatives of the Human Rights House in Oslo, Executive Director Maria Dahle, Project Manager Ane Tusvik Bonde, Norwegian Ambassador Jon Ramberg, UK ambassador Dr Carolyn Browne, as well as representatives of other foreign missions, human rights organisations, youth organisations, journalists and media in Azerbaijan. Giving a speech at the opening, Ambassador Jon Ramberg underscored the importance of a critical civil society and free media for the development of accountable and transparent government, and stressed Norway’s continued commitment to helping Azerbaijan fulfil its international obligations with regard to human rights.
