Folk music trio Tindra in Georgia

03/11/2009 // 1. - 13. November the Norwegian folk music trio TINDRA is on tour in Georgia together with the Georgian musician and composer Russudan Meipariani.

Tindra present a tasteful and authentic folk music idiom with imaginative arrangements that range from tender and sensitive to vibrant and dynamic. Åshild Vetrhus (folk song), Jorun Marie Kvernberg (fiddle) and Irene Tillung (accordion) give their audiences an intense and direct encounter with melodies in bold, nuanced and colourful arrangements. Tindra provides innovative versions of traditional tunes, as well as crafting their own songs, powered by strong traditions and a clear view of modern musical styles. Their latest album, "Den kvite hjorten" (the white deer), has Tindra playing music built on a childrens book by Jan-Magnus Bruheim as part of a performance with actor Helge Jordal.
