Norwegian People Aid marked the completion of its Battle Area Clearance Programme in Georgia

02/07/2010 // On 22nd June NPA marked the completion of its Battle Area Clearance Programme in Georgia.

The programme has been key in NPA’s efforts to support and promote the implementation of the Convention of Cluster Munitions, which will enter into force on 01 August 2010. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who has been the donor to the clearance project in Georgia, was represented by Ambassador Jon Ramberg who was given the task of detonating the final munitions.
