For the last six months the Norwegian engineer association TEKNA has trained 33 Nakhchivan engineers in energy efficiency, to a potential saving of AZN 400,000 - and considerable savings to the environment. The results were discussed at a seminar in the city of Nakhchivan 16 September, whereupon the Norwegian ambassador Jon Ramberg handed out diplomas to the graduates. During his two days stay in Nakhchivan, ambassador Ramberg also met with the President of Nakhchivan Parliament, Mr. Vasif Talibov, academic institutions and representatives of civil society including the journalist and human right defender Malahat Nasibova, who received the Rafto Prize the following week. Ambassador Ramberg also visited several companies, where lessons from the TEKNA course will be implemented, and many historic monuments and museums. Together with Associate Professor Vibeke Roggen of the University of Oslo, ambassador Ramberg also visited the Rectors of the University of Nachivan and the Academy of Science.
