The 7th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Equality between women and men was held on 24-25 May 2010 in Baku. The main theme of the Conference was "Gender equality: bridging the gap between de jure and de facto equality".
There were two sub-themes dedicated to:
- Positive action and gender mainstreaming to achieve de facto gender equality
- Combating gender stereotypes: the role of education and the media
Director General Arnhild Hole of the Norwegian Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion held a speech at this conference, where she emphasized the quota for gender balance on companies’ Board of Directors and the father’s quota in the parental leave scheme.
